When To Start Using An Anti Aging Cream

If you’ve googled this, there is obviously some reason that you are feeling you need to start using this. It may be signs of wrinkles, skin more prone to drying or you are just paranoid with your next birthday just around the corner. The simple answer is any age. You could literally begin using these products from your teen years. It’s recommended to start using anti-aging products into your daily routine would be best from around the age of 20. This helps to better nourish the skin and protect it earlier on, rather than starting the process later, like in your 30’s+. Remember to factor in your lifestyle when deciding when to begin use. If you have a healthy and active lifestyle and have a good sun protection method happening, you can probably start that little bit later.

What To Look For In An Anti Aging Cream

When looking for an anti-aging cream, it’s important to make sure that ingredients are suited to your skin. If your skin tends to normally react to a particular ingredient or additive, make sure that it’s not found within your product. Some of the ingredients we would recommend looking out for would be ones that contain moisturising ingredients such as vitamin C, grape seed extract, tea extracts, peptides, and hydroxy acids. Retinol is another important ingredient to ensure that’s in your wrinkle creams. Retinol is a vitamin A compound that has been proven to help neutralise the molecules that cause the break down of skin cells and cause wrinkles. Niacinamide may also help to reduce the skin’s elasticity so it’s another ingredient worth mentioning for a potential ingredient to prevent skin aging.

How Often Should You Use An Anti Aging Cream?

It’s recommended to try to incorporate the use of anti-aging creams into your routine daily. This just helps to give added strength to your skin and get you in the habit of good practices. If you are a little hesitant to use these creams frequently, you can just make small lifestyle changes that will simply help. By using products that offer SPF protection of 30 and higher, it will help to fight off the rays of the sun.  Exfoliating frequently is a bonus! Eating well has also shown to help decrease the signs of aging too. Also, using organic ingredients is also a solution such as a coconut oil to help give you that vibrant glow. You could look to other cultures such a the Korean skincare regime for inspiration.

What Skincare Routine Should You Adopt for Anti Aging?

This really depends on your age and the amount of time, money and effort you want to put in. On average, women spend 55 minutes a day primping and pampering themselves. Pick a time when you can dedicate the most time to yourself. If you are short for minutes in the day, invest in a night cream. You just apply a small amount before bed, and you are done. It’s recommended to remove makeup and exfoliate first, but it will still have results none the less! Day creams or 24-hour creams are good for those who are early risers and have that extra time during the day. You just apply to your face, neck and even hands and head out the door. Bonus points if you pick a product that has SPF 50+!  If you have some added time, consider doing face masks once a week too!

These are just some of the things you can do to help keep your skin looking younger until we find that fountain of youth. Remember getting older is natural and don’t be afraid to embrace it.
