Do you suffer from messy and unmanageable hair? If you’re someone with curly hair, the answer to that question is likely to be “yes” but it doesn’t have to be. There are so many ways to help combat frizz and fuzz without extreme effort. Devacurl products are a solution to your needs! Look, we wouldn’t shamelessly plug it if it didn’t work!

So why is it better than other products and how does it work? This is probably a thought that comes to mind. we’ve tried to cover all you need to know about the Devacurl brand and all the goodies they offer!

Getting To Know Devacurl

Let’s go back to 1994 and imagine we are in New York City. Now imagine the hairstyles at the time. We’ve not long come out of the ’80s which mean hair was BIG and WILD. While those of us with straight or wavy hair would have still had issues, it was prominent for those with curly hair. So Devacurl started in a salon in NYC, specifically working at perfecting curls.

Today, Devacurl is a prominent name in the USA and is much loved by curly-haired girls. The brand can often be described as “revolutionary” and “magic” for the hair. They not only have an incredible formula but one of the most notable things is the ability to understand what you need.  One of the first things they get you to do is take a quiz to help identify the right product for you. You’ll then be shown an assortment of images that display various levels of curls. T=You’ll then be asked to pick your hair concerns and what you are wanting to achieve. Based on this information, you’ll then be directed to the perfect product FOR YOU.

Devacurl Products & Why They Work

One of the reasons why this product works so well is because the company has put so much time and research into the development. Unlike other companies, they spend their time trying to perfect products just for curly-haired beings, rather than a mass product for “all” hair types. This means they can spend a lot more time doing R&D to improve the formula.

Additionally, the needs of those with curly hair are different from other hair types. They understand and ensure that they are removing or reducing ingredients that cause problems like frizz! That means your hair will be less likely to show fuzz, as the formula is sulphate and paraben-free.

Some of the most popular products include:

  • Hair cleansers
  • Shampoos
  • Conditioners
  • Treatments

Key ingredients that are used in some of the formulations include olive oil, Glycerine, Grape Seed Oil and Wheat Amino Acids. The key ingredients are prominent in helping to retain moisture in the hair and reduce frizz. That means less dry ends and more volume! The formula has recently changed to be better for your scalp and they’ve tried to move away from those nasty ingredients that are common in other brands.

You may also want to carefully consider the styling process too! The way your dry hair can change and shape hair! For those with curly hair, we can’t recommend using  hairdryers and diffusers enough! Honestly, it’ll change the entire look!

Picking Based On Your Needs

Believe it or not, not everyone loves their curls. While they can be difficult to manage, it’s worth giving them another chance and try to control them! Specialised creams work to try and shape the curl to provide a more unified look. Ideal for hairdressers to have on hand for clients who are wanting those perfect curls after their salon service. You can also consider things like if you have dry or oily ends or coloured hair, to really narrow down the product.

If you’re a hairdresser and want to make the process more fun for the client, allow them to take the online quiz to see the exact Devacurl products you should use. One of the reasons we suggest this is because clients will often walk in with straightened or altered hair, so it can make it difficult to assess. We’re excited to see all the styles and transformations you can make! Don’t forget to tag us in your social media posts or comment below!
