A facial toner (also known as a skin toner) is a lotion or wash used to help cleanse your skin. Washing your face correctly is covered in these 5 tips to healthy skin. They are specially designed to reduce the appearance of pores and aid in the removal of excess dirt, oil and makeup. They also help to restore the correct PH balance of your skin which is perfect for those who suffer from acne or sensitive skin. It's important to understand your skin type and its need to help pick the perfect toner from AMR.
Picking a Facial Toner
Firstly, you need to consider your skin type. Do you suffer from oily skin? If so, a facial toner will be the most beneficial for your skin over any other. This is because the toners help to remove sebum, which causes oils.
If you suffer from dry skin, it also helps to put active ingredients in your skin, such as antioxidants, exfoliants and retinoids but should be used less frequently. It's suggested to try it daily and if it dries out your skin, consider every second day. They are quick and easy to use. Even with regular use of facial toners it is still nice to treat yourself with the occasional facial mask.
Using a Facial Toner
Facial toners are easy to use and are recommended to be used twice daily for a good skincare regime. Firstly, rinse your face with water and try to remove any dirt.
Secondly, apply the serum by adding a few drops to your skin. Dab or lightly tap on your skin and allow it to dry. After it's dried, then apply your favourite moisturiser. Remember if your skin dries too much, just cut back to moisturising once daily.
