Hair Perm Kits & Treatments

Perms were once the height of fashion, and just like most trends, it fell out of fashion for a while. Today, we are seeing the rise of the perm again, for those wanting curly locks without having to bring out the hot iron daily.

The perm process is completed using a hair perm treatment and curling rods.

It's a chemical solution that gets applied to the hair and offers a permanent solution for curls. Firstly, there are two types of solutions you can select from. One is suited for normal and fine hair. Product version two, however, is for treated or tinted hair.

Using Perm Solution In Salon

Conducting a hair perm treatment can take up to several hours to achieve. The process first starts by cleaning the hair with a clarifying or detox shampoo. This is used to ensure all excess oils are removed from the hair and the treatment can properly absorb. It's important not to use a conditioner after washing the client's hair. To save time, some salons ask their clients to wash their own hair prior to visiting. We advise against this as they may not carry out the same level of care as you do, and can cause issues with the final results.

After you've sectioned the hair using sectioning clips and a comb, you can then start to pin the hair using rollers or rods. This comes down to personal preference and the type of curl the client wants. Furthermore, to complete the process you'll need a few other tools. Neutralisers are critical to the task along with the perm solutions.

To make life easier, consider stocking a neck tray for the rods. Additionally, consider waving solution, cotton wool, perming foam and hair endpapers. If you're uncertain how to use the hair perm treatments, contact our friendly staff. We will do our best to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
