Hair Colour Removers

Sometimes to achieve a desired hair colour for a client, you will need to strip or remove a previous hair dye. Hair colour removers work by entering the hair shaft and removing artificial colour (even permanent hair colour) from the hair.

The specialised formula of colour strippers specifically target artificial pigment. This means it will remove any non-natural colours from the hair while maintaining the natural pigment intact. This means if your colour contains no dye, your colour will remain the same.

However, the colour removal process will not remove bleach, only dyes and toners. In most cases, a colour removal should be a salon treatment on its own, as it can take more than an hour to complete.

It's safe to continue on with a colour service after, it's just that it can be time-consuming for you and the client. Some hairdressers may suggest clients try alternate at-home methods prior to coming to get their hair coloured.

Hair Colour Removers, Extractors & Hair Strippers

Colour removers aren't limited to hair. They can also help to clean up spills around the salon. Sometimes colour extractors can come in a wipe form as well as a liquid.

Products such as colour remover wipes can be used directly on your clients skin to clear tint from the hairline. Additionally, you may want to consider a barrier cream to prevent the stains from occurring in the first place. It creates a barrier of film over the skin, preventing colour from staining around the hairline and it helps to prevent skin irritations.

If you're unsure of which brand of hair stripper or colour extractor is best suited to your needs, our friendly staff will be happy to assist you.
