Professional Hairdressing Scissors

If you ask any professional hairdresser, they would agree that owning quality hairdressing scissors is essential for their job.

How to Choose Quality Hair Scissors

Here is our guide to choosing the best hairdressing scissors. Hair scissors are equally important for beauty salons and for barbershops. Our team has the primary concern to provide high-quality hairdressing and barber tools to our customers. However, there are other factors you need to account for besides quality when you make your choice. Your expertise level, the purpose of the scissors, the cutting technique, the cost, the number of staff at your salon, all play a role when you need to make your choice. At AMR, we stock a variety of hair scissors to help you find all that you need for a perfect haircut at one place:

• Beginner, intermediate, and expert scissors
• Hair scissors, as well as scissors for facial hair, brows, and nails
• Haircutting shears
• Razor scissors used for texturising
• Thinning scissors - See our ultimate guide to using thinning scissors
• Hair scissors with a bevelled or convex edge
• Scissor kits

Most salons do well with at least two or three hair scissors per person of staff or per salon chair. However, if you want to ultimately provide all types of haircutting and barber services, your supplies will need to be generously stocked with a variety of scissors and shears, as well as sharpening tools to keep them in shape.

Investing in Quality Scissors

With hairdressing scissors, like most professional tools, you tend to get what you pay for. If you go for a bargain, at one point you will understand that you need to repeat your purchase much sooner than you thought. Once you hold a solid pair of scissors made of stainless steel that fits perfectly in your hands, you will know their true value.
