Collection: Lipliner
Using Lip Liners
Lip liners are commonly used to help boost the colour of lipstick and longevity. They are used like a primer similar to a foundation. They offer a base coat for your lips. Although you'd don't have to use lip liner, beauty advocates will promote them for more prominent lips. Additionally, applying lip liner does require a steady hand and a few simple steps.
Applying The Perfect Lip Liner
Firstly, if you suffer from dry lips, it's recommended to exfoliate. You can do this by using a toothbrush and a moisturising lip balm. By lightly rubbing over your lips, it can help to remove dead skin. Be mindful not to scrub too hard as small tears can occur. Secondly, wait for the balm to dry. Before applying any liner, it's recommended to warm up the pencil. You can do this by lightly rubbing on the back of your hand. This will allow for the liner to spread more easily and less pressure needed to be applied to your lips. Use the pencil to lightly follow the lips natural line, moving in small strokes. Once traced, you then can use your lipstick to fill in the centre of your lips. Finally, you then rub your lips together, ensuring full coverage.
Picking The Perfect Shade
Selecting the right liner depends on the colour lipstick you'll be using. You want to try and match them as best as possible for optimal results. Reds, pinks and nudes are the most common colours used. If you are wanting to create an ombre lip, consider going a shade darker than your lipstick. Don't forget a near sharp pencil will give off the best results.
