Hair Toners

Hair toners can be either a demi or semi-permanent hair colour. They're commonly used after a full professional hair treatment to obtain or maintain a more natural colour. Even those with natural colour opt for a toner to add shine and vibrancy to their original colour.

When applied, the colour will usually last them up to 6 weeks. The durability of the toners depend on the method of application as well as the post-care. Other factors need to be considered too like the length of time the toners left on and the porosity of the hair it has been applied to.

When the toners are first applied, they may sometimes appear a little darker than the desired result. After a few washes, the colour will begin to fade. When hair toners begin to fade from blonde hair, yellow pigment is often visible, leaving clients disappointed a few weeks later. Thankfully, offering clients take-home treatments can allow them to preserve the colour until their next visit.

Consider offering your clients colour intensifier masks as an additional take-home service. Use them every wash to help restore pigments of colour that may have faded when cleansing the hair.
