To achieve optimal results with the Limitless Salon Starter Kit 1, follow this professional protocol for mixing and application.
1. Consultation & Selection
Utilize the Limitless Professional Colour Chart with its 121 hand-knotted swatches to accurately identify the client's natural base level and desired target shade. Refer to the underlying pigment chart to determine if a corrector or booster is required to neutralize or enhance the final tone.
2. Mixing Ratios
In a non-metallic bowl, combine your chosen Limitless Illuminates Tint with the appropriate Limitless Crème Developer based on the required level of lift or deposit.
- Standard Colouring: Mix at a ratio of 1:1.5 (e.g., 50g Colour + 75g Developer).
- High-Lift Series (11 & 12): Mix at a ratio of 1:2 (e.g., 50g Colour + 100g Developer).
3. Developer Selection Guide
3.5 Vol & 5 Vol: Ideal for tone-on-tone coloring, refreshing ends, and demi-permanent results.
- 10 Vol (3%): Used for depositing color or minimal lift (1 level).
- 20 Vol (6%): The standard for grey coverage and lifting 1–2 levels.
- 30 Vol (9%): Used for lifting 2–3 levels.
- 40 Vol (12%): For maximum lift (3–4 levels) and use with the High-Lift series.
4. Application & Processing
- Apply the mixture to dry, unwashed hair. For virgin hair, apply to mid-lengths and ends first, then the roots. For regrowth, apply to the root area only, emulsifying through the ends during the final 5–10 minutes if a refresh is needed.
- Standard Processing Time: 35–45 minutes.
- High-Lift Processing Time: 45–55 minutes.
5. Removal
Once the processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water and emulsify the color to ensure scalp staining is removed. Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear, then follow with an acid-balanced shampoo and conditioner to stabilize the color molecules and close the cuticle.
