Lip Balm

Do you suffer from dry lips? Using a lip balm will help to reduce the dryness of your lips, helping to repair cracked skin and preventing them from cracking. Things like air conditioning, being sick and drying lip products can be some of the main causes for dry lips. By applying moisturised products throughout the day, repairing your lips will become easier. The moisturising ingredients are specialised to have conditioner properties.

Ingredients Commonly Found In Lip Balm

There are many key additives you should be looking for in your lip protection. Firstly, cocoa butter, shea butter or mango butter are great for added moisture. They are hydrating and rich in vitamin E and fatty acids. Secondly, keep an eye out for oils. They're great stopping the lips from drying out. Coconut oils, avocado oil, olive oil or jojoba oil are all great at effectively preventing drying. Thirdly, beeswax is commonly used to help hold all the ingredients together.

Lip Balm Application

Using a lip balm is easy and doesn't require any special prepping. You can just apply it directly to the lips, rubbing them together to ensure maximum surface area is reached. You can get some moisturisers that are tinted too if you're someone who likes to have a little colour to their lips. Otherwise, most balms tend to be clear in colour, just adding a little extra shine to your lips. While this isn't exactly a makeup must-have, it's a necessity as a daily use product. Some even offer SPF protection which can help prevent sunburnt lips.
